Should the safe capacity for social distancing in the lecture room be exceeded a secondary room with a projection screen will be setup for attendees.

Join us for a lecture by historian John Potestio about his latest book Becoming Canadian: Memories of an Italian Immigrant. The lecture will be part of a book launch event delay from last fall due to COVID-19. Copies of Becoming Canadian will be for sale in the Museum's gift shop during the event.

John Potestio was born in 1939 in Grimaldi, one of the most important sending towns of Italian emigration. His family settled in Thunder Bay in 1953, a community where he has lived for nearly seventy years. He is a retired teacher of both Secondary School and University. Potestio is the author of several books that deal with various aspects of settlement of Italian immigrants in Thunder Bay.
This lecture session is part of a the Society's long tradition of holding free public lectures. Talks on a wide range of topics are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Thunder Bay Museum from September to April.
