Description:

The Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society is pleased to announce the launch of its debut historical fiction from author Scott Saxberg, a successful entrepreneur and mentor, Those We Carry. The novel is inspired by Saxberg’s great-uncle, a member of the Lake Superior Scottish Regiment in World War II, famous for helping liberate the Netherlands from the Nazis in 1944. By piecing together various archival materials, including his uncle’s own regimental diaries (that describe in great detail his troop’s on-the-ground experiences), Saxberg has written a powerful and moving story of a military officer in love with a woman who was part of the Dutch resistance. This book is equal parts action, drama, and suspense—a wartime love story readers won’t want to put down.

Author Scott Saxberg will speak about his inspiration and process for creating the book, read selections to the audience, take questions, and sign books.

Speakers:

  • Capt. George Romick (Retired), Lake Superior Scottish Regiment
  • Dr. David Ratz, Board Member of the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society
  • Scott Allen Saxberg, Author
  • Scott Bradley, Executive Director of the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society (Emcee)
