This will be an in-person event.
Description:
Join us in celebrating the opening of our exhibit "Where the Line was Drawn: The Canadian Pacific Railway, Treaties, and the Reshaping of Northwestern Ontario." Recognizing 150 years since the first turning of the sod for the CPR in the Fort William Town Plot on June 1, 1875, this exhibit highlights the story of the railway’s construction, impacts on Indigenous peoples, and the long-term legacy of the railway on the development of the Lakehead and Northwestern Ontario.
The event will feature remarks on the exhibit's significance and development from Museum staff, as well as by Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society President Dr. Jenna Kirker and His Worship, Ken Boshcoff, Mayor of Thunder Bay.
