Description:
Joe Piwoschuk first learned about the Silver Islet Silver Mine in 1974, while backpacking in Sibley Provincial Park (currently Sleeping Giant PP). The story of the mine and the town stayed with him until 2022, when he decided to research the story details. Come hear a fresh perspective about the discovery, operation, and ultimate end of the one-time richest silver mine in the world!
SPEAKER BIO:
Joe Piwoschuk is a retired safety investigator, avid traveller, and curious amateur history researcher.
